Stan Rapp Appointed 2011 International AME Awards® North America GrandJury® President
New York, NY – September 2, 2010: The 2011 ame awards®, for advertising & marketing effectiveness, now in its 16th year of honoring “The World’s Most Effective Advertising™” announced the appointment of Stan Rapp, Chairman of Engauge, as AME North America GrandJury President. This is the second year in a row that the direct marketing icon will lend his vision and expertise to the AME Awards.
“You can’t mention marketing effectiveness without mentioning Stan Rapp. Having this globally acclaimed thought leader as AME’s North American GrandJury President for the 2nd straight year is a real honor,” said Michael O’Rourke, President of International Awards Group.
Mr. Rapp is recognized by both Advertising Age and the Advertising Club of New York as one of the top 101 individuals who shaped advertising in the 20th century. For 23 years, he was CEO of Rapp Collins Worldwide, the largest marketing services company in America. Mr. Rapp was also CEO and then Chairman of McCann Relationship Marketing. He later served on the board of McCann-Erickson World Group. He is the author of seven books, including the bestseller MaxiMarketing, which first predicted the turnaround from mass marketing to the individualized marketing model.
In 2011, AME introduced an enhanced scoring process designed to improve the accuracy of each entry’s score. GrandJury members will evaluate entries using four sections, each with individual scoring weights.
Last year AME Awards introduced regional competitions and juries, allowing entries to be judged with cultural relevance within their own regions: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, and North America.
2011’s AME’s GrandJury awarded SapientNitro of South Brisbane, Australia the Grand Trophy for their entry “Best Job in the World” for Tourism Queensland - Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. All AME Gold winning work was judged by the GrandJury to determine the Platinum Trophy winners: SapientNitro of South Brisbane, Australia/Asia Pacific Platinum Award; BBDO/Proximity of Toronto, Canada/North America Platinum Award; and HEIMAT Werbeagentur GmbH of Berlin, Germany/European Platinum Award.
Juniper Park of Toronto, Canada received the first International AME Green Award, for the television commercial “Building a Preeminent Green Brand” for Sun Chips.
